There's no way to get caught out when you play NBA 2K22. You shouldn't even think for one second you can make an in-between heave that takes you between two baselines. It's not possible. The ball could be taken away. However, this reflects changes in the game. You have to be faster, quicker, sharper and smarter with your plays for you to get past the defense.
NBA 2K22 is not all about luck. In NBA 2K20 and NBA 2K21 it was clear that a lot of the gameplay felt like luck. You'd either score or you didn't based on what the computer's algorithm wanted. Many players would be upset that the algorithm snatched their shots, meaning they had to miss all of their shots, so they could be defeated by the CPU. The reality is, it's been less like that so far this year.
The game has plenty of things to play in the NBA 2K22 edition. There's plenty to do today, between Draft Mode, MyTeam, MyCareer, MyNBA and more. The game continues to add new features.
NBA 2K22 shot-contesting is unclear. It's unclear whether the shot contesting actually works or not. It was suggested by reports that shot contesting where an opponent contests a shot against you -- would work more realistically compared to earlier times. However, my players had trouble finding open shots and nailing the shots, even in the contest.
